Boobies May Cry

Boobies! I mean Devil May Cry 4... Right, now that I have your attention on the subject at hand. What has gaming come to when the two lead characters are set to fight then a cutscene takes over and you just have to sit back for five minutes and let the cpu have all the fun. Well the beginning of Devil May Cry 4 is exactly this. It is honestly as though Konami think you're not cool enough to participate in these fights. Now thankfully, the rest of the fights in the game more than make up for this lack of control. That and the cutscenes are frickin' awesome...

Now Playing Gears of War 2

This edition of Now Playing was going to be on Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, but unfortunately it’s pish. I’m a massive Transformers fan and have been since I was a young boy, loving Christmas’s and birthdays coming round hoping for some new Transformers toy. The G1 Transformers movie is still one of favourite films of all time but I struggle to find something good to say about the Revenge of the Fallen game. Bugger.

iPhoney Doom

The boys (and girls) over at ID software and Escalation Studios have brought Doom Resurrection to the iPhone which on the surface looks very much like Doom 3 running on a low end p.c. This is quite impressive for a handheld device, nevermind a mobile phone. So you are thinking - where have they had to cut back - and this is the issue. Doom Resurrection on the iPhone is an 'on rails' shooter like House of the Dead or Time crisis. Before you get all pissy and complain that 'Doom should never be on rails' this actually works for the iPhone.

The time was set - Friday 12th June, 00:10 am - I just had to stay up to finish Bionic Commando. I could feel that I was getting close to the end and couldn't resist finishing it before the weekend. I’d just like to follow up on a few things here from my initial opening thoughts and I must say say that the closing impressions are far greater that what was once thought.

The long awaited Prototype finally reaches retail stores and looks set to be quite an impressive 'anger management' game, tearing through hordes of military personnel, the 'Infected' and even innocent bystanders. Our protagonist - Alex Mercer - wakes in a morgue to find himself genetically modified with new shape shifting powers and a fresh taste for revenge. Throwing himself at New York and its inhabitants he hunts down those responsible for him being this way.

Project Natal

Well folks it looks like its time to get off the sofa again with Microsoft's new Project Natal and get "in the game!". Whereas with the Wii Remote you were limited to the motion of your two arms - and further down the line your feet with the Balance Board. With Project Natal your whole body becomes the controller!

Gaming Equivalent of Twitter

Well folks, Ive not long finished the Terminator Salvation game for Xbox 360 and for most of you gamers out there it represents an afternoon of gaming. In my case (being married) it was two sittings but for a regular gamer you're looking at around three and a half hours.

All Hope is Lost

Well folks, Uwe Boll has come round again to ruin yet another game franchise. This time its Ninja Gaiden that is for the 'chop' and if you were to ignore the fact that the game ever existed it could just about get away with being a generic ninja movie. Problem is it bears the name of one of the greatest ninja franchises of all time - and my personal favourite.

Lets just hope he gets the message and stops ruining our perfect idea of games....
